In partnership with Wells Fargo, Milwaukee Tool, and Home Depot, Operation Tiny Home has joined together with Tiny House Nation co-host Zack Giffin to host a 3-Day Tiny Home Finish Carpentry and Custom Furniture Workshop.
Veterans and Active Duty Military are invited to join us for a basic introduction to finish carpentry and custom multifunctional furniture and storage designed for tiny house living. Participants will have the opportunity to get hands-on experience while learning about different types of materials, the order of design, and construction, and how each step affects the next, all the way through the project.
Join us for this unique opportunity to have fun and learn new carpentry skills while supporting female veterans struggling with PTSD and housing instability through the Operation WEBS Eco-Village.

"I see tiny houses as a powerful tool; once a person has a good understanding of how homes are constructed as well as proficient knowledge on the use of the tools required, they not only have a valuable skill-set that can create new job opportunities, but also a pathway to creating one's own affordable housing solution." - Zack Giffin

Here is what some of our previous workshop participants have to say about their experience:
“I learned so much in such a short time frame. I was able to participate at my own pace and there was always a wide variety of areas to keep everyone interested. I was able to always get all of my answers to any questions. I was a novice in so many ways but being in an environment where you felt welcomed and everybody was interested in giving all they had was phenomenal. Even with all the hard work the atmosphere created was infectious and you did not want to leave at the end of each day! ”
“Learned a lot, met a great group of people, and did something that will make a difference in someone’s life. We did something beautiful for a person that deserves to know that there are people who care and love them. So rewarding.”
“This workshop was a game changer for me. I feel like I got flipped upside down and turned inside out. The Operation Tiny Home team was absolutely incredible. They all took the time to teach me, grow me, challenge me, feed me, and love me.”
“I have been to two workshops and have learned so much. The camaraderie at these workshops reminds me so much of my military days. The fact that with each build we have one less veteran off the street makes it that much better.”
“I did a build in Oklahoma just recently with Zack and it absolutely rocked. I learned bunches and all for a good cause. You’ll have fun while you learn and while you help out a veteran!!”
“Operation Tiny Home is a class act that exceeded all my expectations. David and I can’t say enough good things. We are still talking about it.
”
“The joy I received and the friendships I made were beyond my expectation!”
“The pace of the workshop was great for instructional. The professionals were clear and concise with instruction blocks, and were supportive while we learned.”
“Zack took his time to instruct newcomers and made everybody feel welcome. He explained the steps necessary to accomplish the build and I enjoyed seeing from the beginning how a house comes together.”
“I did an Operation Tiny Home workshop with Zack in WI. You will learn something. He’s the real deal.”
“I like building stuff and helping fellow veterans and I got to do that and it was a lot of fun.”
“I enjoyed meeting and interacting with everyone. Neither Zack nor other experts ever made me feel “stupid” or acted impatient with questions. This was truly an experience to remember.”
