Operation Tiny Home welcomes veterans, whether they are recently transitioning or seeking a new direction, who are searching for their place in the civilian world and a sense of purpose. Our program, centered on construction trades and tiny home building, goes beyond skills training; it offers a sense of belonging and a chance to give back, guiding veterans to find their fit and build a fulfilling future. This journey is a pathway to empowerment, healing, and personal growth, allowing veterans to rebuild their lives and rediscover their purpose.

Our expanded series of workshops is more than just hands-on training; it's an opportunity to lay the foundations for a brighter future. Participants gain valuable skills in various construction trades, including plumbing, electrical work, general contracting, HVAC, and finish carpentry. This comprehensive training equips them with multiple career opportunities and addresses the critical need for skilled workers in the trades industry.

The impact of our program is profound, extending far beyond individual careers. It strengthens the trade sector, introduces innovative construction practices, and promotes sustainable and affordable housing solutions like tiny homes. As our Veteran participants build these homes, they also create a community and experience the feeling of camaraderie, forging lasting connections and a supportive network that mirrors the camaraderie of their military experience.

The tiny homes created through our program are symbols of hope, resilience, and a commitment to a better future. Each home donated to individuals and families facing housing instability is a tangible result of our participants' hard work and dedication. It's a reminder of their positive impact on the world, both through their newly acquired skills and their commitment to giving back.

We invite you to join us in this noble endeavor. Whether you're a veteran looking to learn new skills, a supporter eager to contribute to a meaningful cause, or someone who wants to spread the word about this life-changing opportunity, your involvement can make a significant impact. Together, let's build a better future for our veterans, one tiny home at a time.

"I see tiny houses as a powerful tool; once a person has a good understanding of how homes are constructed as well as proficient knowledge on the use of the tools required, they not only have a valuable skill-set that can create new job opportunities, but also a pathway to creating one's own affordable housing solution." - Zack Giffin, A&E TV Series Tiny House Nation Co-Host

Here is what some of our previous workshop participants have to say about their experience:

I learned so much in such a short time frame. I was able to participate at my own pace and there was always a wide variety of areas to keep everyone interested. I was able to always get all of my answers to any questions. I was a novice in so many ways but being in an environment where you felt welcomed and everybody was interested in giving all they had was phenomenal. Even with all the hard work the atmosphere created was infectious and you did not want to leave at the end of each day!
— — G. Lewis, Oklahoma Workshop Attendee
Learned a lot, met a great group of people, and did something that will make a difference in someone’s life. We did something beautiful for a person that deserves to know that there are people who care and love them. So rewarding.
— — R. Cranely, 2017 Racine Workshop Attendee
This workshop was a game changer for me. I feel like I got flipped upside down and turned inside out. The Operation Tiny Home team was absolutely incredible. They all took the time to teach me, grow me, challenge me, feed me, and love me.
— — M. Sheehan, Oklahoma Workshop Attendee
I have been to two workshops and have learned so much. The camaraderie at these workshops reminds me so much of my military days. The fact that with each build we have one less veteran off the street makes it that much better.
— N. Chapa, San Antonio & Oklahoma Workshop Attendee
I did a build in Oklahoma just recently with Zack and it absolutely rocked. I learned bunches and all for a good cause. You’ll have fun while you learn and while you help out a veteran!!
— A. Hickey, Oklahoma Workshop Attendee
Operation Tiny Home is a class act that exceeded all my expectations. David and I can’t say enough good things. We are still talking about it.
— — C. Re-Fowlkes, San Antonio Workshop Attendee
The joy I received and the friendships I made were beyond my expectation!
— E. Toney, Oklahoma Workshop Attendee
The pace of the workshop was great for instructional. The professionals were clear and concise with instruction blocks, and were supportive while we learned.
— — T. Cupid, Orlando Workshop Attendee
Zack took his time to instruct newcomers and made everybody feel welcome. He explained the steps necessary to accomplish the build and I enjoyed seeing from the beginning how a house comes together.
— — I. Cotto, Orlando Workshop Attendee
I did an Operation Tiny Home workshop with Zack in WI. You will learn something. He’s the real deal.
— — R. LaHue, Racine Workshop Attendee
I like building stuff and helping fellow veterans and I got to do that and it was a lot of fun.
— — C. Galusha, San Antonio Workshop Attendee
I enjoyed meeting and interacting with everyone. Neither Zack nor other experts ever made me feel “stupid” or acted impatient with questions. This was truly an experience to remember.
